• Precise location (GPS coordinates when you grant permission)
• Used to show nearby events and calculate distances
• Location data is anonymized in analytics
Photos and Videos:
• Profile pictures
• Event cover photos
• Stories (photos/videos that expire after 24 hours)
• Stored securely in Firebase Storage
Messaging Data:
• Direct messages between users
• Group chat messages for events
• Message timestamps and read status
• Typing indicators and presence information
Social Activity:
• Users you follow and who follow you
• Events you've attended or hosted
• Friend activity and interactions
• Public profile information
Financial Information:
• Purchase history for business subscriptions (processed through RevenueCat, App Store & Google Play)
• Payment information (stored securely by App Store & Google Play, not by us)
• Business subscription tier and status
Device & Usage Information:

However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take reasonable measures to protect your data.

6. Account Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

How to Delete Your Account:

• In-App Deletion: Open the East Anglia Events app → Profile → Settings → Privacy & Terms → "Delete Account"​
• Email Request: Send a request to eastangliaeventsco@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request"
What Data Gets Deleted:
• Your profile information (name, email, photo, bio, Instagram handle)
• Events you've created or joined
• Your reviews and ratings
• Your stories and uploaded media
• Your messages and chat history
• Your social connections (following/followers)
• Your business subscription data (if applicable)
• Your notification preferences and settings
• Your location data and event discovery history
• Your push notification tokens

Data Retention:

• Most data is deleted immediately upon account deletion
• Messages in group chats may remain visible to other participants but your identity is anonymized
• Backup copies may be retained for up to 30 days for recovery purposes
• All data is permanently removed within 30 days of deletion request
• Anonymized analytics data may be retained but contains no personal identifiers
• Financial records required for tax/legal compliance are retained as required by law

Processing Time: Account deletion requests are typically processed within 7 business days.

7. Data Retention Periods
We retain different types of data for varying periods:
• Active account data: Retained while your account is active
• Stories: Automatically deleted after 24 hours
• Messages: Retained until you delete your account
• Event data: Retained for 1 year after event date, then archived
• Analytics data: Anonymized and retained indefinitely
• Crash logs: Retained for 90 days
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years (legal requirement)

8. Children's Privacy
East Anglia Events is intended for users aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the UK/EU, including the United States (where Firebase and other services are hosted). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including:
